The Garden Project
- More than 5,000 community and low-income home gardeners assisted
- 75 member/network gardens, 60% increase from last year
- 1,000,000 square feet of cultivated community garden space, 140% increase from last year
- 79,000 square feet of supported home garden space, 250 home gardens
- Estimated value of produce grown in Garden Project community and home gardens, over $700,000
- More than 225,000 pounds of fresh produce gleaned from farms
Food Movers
- More than 750,000 pounds of prepared and perishable food rescued and delivered to those in need
- More than 4,000 neighboors assisted through Lansing Neighborhood Partnership Programs
- Delivers food to more than 40 agencies, pantries, and subsidized housing projects
Pantries and Related Agencies
- More than 15,000 families or more than 44,000 individuals accessed the pantries coordinated through the Ingham County Food Bank (ICFB) which organized the distribution of more than 1.2 million pounds of food.
- 40% of the individuals served by (ICFB) were children under the age of 18
- 31% of those served by ICFB were employed either full or part-time
- 61% of those served by ICFB receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, SNAP, benefits (food stamps)
- Average of 150 new families sought assistance every month through the ICFB
- More than 30,000 individuals received food assistance through our related agencies and pantries beyond those in the Ingham County Food Bank network
- More than 1.7 million meals served through shelters, kitchens and pantries
- More than 20,000 vouchers for fresh produce and dairy
