Assistance Resources

For Emergency Food Assistance in the Tri-County area dial 2-l-l. Residents of Ingham County can also call the Ingham County Food Bank at 517-887-4357 Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Telephone referrals to local pantries only; no walk-ins.

Capital Area Community Services (CACS)                                                                                   393-7077

  • Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).

Commodities issued four times per year, March, June, August, and November.

  • Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) issued monthly to seniors over 60 and non WIC

pregnant, breastfeeding, & postpartum women and children to age 6.

  • Thanksgiving food baskets.  Call for information in the fall

  • Emergency food.  Available every 60 days.  Must show government issued ID for everyone in family,

rent receipt, proof of income and family size. Applications 11 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. weekdays.

  • Free meal program for eligible seniors over age 60.

  • Free food on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. @ 3305 S Pennsylvania.  Must register between 9 and10 a.m. and

arrive at 1 p.m. to receive food.  First come, first served.

  • Christmas food baskets and toys.  Call for information October-November.

Women, Infants, and Children Program (WIC)                                                                               887-4326

  • Federally funded program for nutritionally eligible pregnant, breastfeeding & postpartum women, infants

and children to age 5.

Angel Food Ministries                                   THIS IS A SELF-FUNDING PROGRAM

  • Order placed for $30 monthly to receive approximately $60 worth of food to be delivered

approximately 2 weeks later.

  • Food must be picked up by 11am on delivery day or will be donated to local food bank
